[Diary] Oct. 14. 2023 – The Weekend.

From March to May, I delved into the world of Readers Digests. Every Saturday and Sunday, I devoted time to reading, making sure to note down all unfamiliar words. One issue per month was my pace, but this time, I managed to finish a volume in three mornings, thanks to quick word look-ups and notes generated with the help of ChatGPT.

At this rate, I could potentially tackle three volumes a month! Next on my reading list: The New Yorker and The Atlantic. While many language learners opt for The Economist, my interest lies more in lifestyle content than serious political economy discussions.

With autumn in the air, I found solace in cycling down the streets while tuning in to some English country music. It’s truly therapeutic.

I recall a TikTok live showcasing an American lumber mill, workers grooving to music as machines hummed.

Yet, it’s not quite the futuristic vision of a Musk-style smart car factory.

I wonder how some European countries, like the UK and Germany, manage workers in factories (hoping it’s more than just relying on cheap Eastern European labor). Additionally, I’m also curious about bringing back manufacturing around the states. More reading is on the horizon for me, seeking a clearer understanding of the manufacturing industry. In this pursuit, I am determined to equip myself with the knowledge and qualifications that will enable me to make informed choices about the country and city where I’ll reside in the future.

Returning to my magazine readings, I love gaining insights into life. From learning the factories and manufacturing, I’ll learn a great deal about how products take shape from raw materials and components. This experience enhanced my understanding of real-life and economic activities. I won’t be like a poet or a fairy tale reader, imagining that items on shelves magically appear for eating and playing. I aspire to become an expert one day, but whether it’s in the mechanical industry, I’m unsure. If I could choose, I’d lean towards something involving plants.

🌿 In my quest for balance between work and life, I strive not to lose myself and succumb to suppression. Despite not adhering to a specific deity, I find solace in moments of prayer.
