New Divide: Chasing New Learning Experience

Using a list to memorize GRE words doesn’t work well for me. Flashcards and example sentences work much better. It reminds me of when I used to have my classmate’s e-dictionary to practice word memorization in high school. It works pretty well.

I told my friend about my revision of international high school math, and I mentioned how my high school courses didn’t include statistics and further mathematics at that stage. Her response was very encouraging to me. So far, I’ve covered the first two units of the textbook. Even though I can’t recall most of the concepts, I know how to solve the example problems. I relate this to my writing; I can critique well-written words, but it’s a bit challenging to write them myself. It’s the same with math problems; I know the steps, but doing them myself might not be accurate. Maybe I should treat it as a pastime, like a puzzle.

I found the A-level and IB computer science textbooks, too, but I don’t have time to read them now. Also, I’ve put aside the English novels I planned to read, which including: Before I Go to Sleep: A Novel by S. J. Watson, Americanah: A Novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and

I bought running clothes last winter and recently got resistance bands too. I’ve learned a lot from my NASM corrective exercise training book, but developing a new habit takes courage. I’m hoping to stay in good shape as I tend to sit for extended periods.

It’s been a while since I updated my English blog with diary entries. If I were to write now, I guess it would only be about these mundane and straightforward things.
